CDL Permit Prep in Mott Haven: 8 Students, Real Progress

On Monday, May 12th, eight students pulled up to Bronx HYPE in Mott Haven for an evening Study Hall session. Over pizza and practice questions, the group worked through CDL permit exam material- breaking down answers, talking through the tricky ones, and building the kind of confidence that only comes from doing the work out loud with other people.

Three attendees already had their permit exam booked before the session started. Three more said they felt ready to sit for it within the week. Victor, who told us the test questions and explanations were the most valuable part, scheduled his exam for May 19th right after the session ended.

It's Not Just the Right Answer, It's Why the Others Are Wrong

Kathery said the most useful thing she took away was understanding why the other answers were wrong. Robert summed up the evening simply: "Thank you for the consideration." For a lot of people in this program, that's what it comes down to: someone actually showing up for them.
